Software Developer - Path Forward Returnship
The Path Forward Return to Work program at SAP is a 20-week paid returnship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to women and men who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least two years to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Our suite of end-to-end HR applications are used by nearly 40 million people around the world, helping organizations of all size re-think their HR processes by delivering innovative solutions, analytics and process expertise.
EXPECTATION AND TASKS
Developers at SAP SuccessFactors collaborate on the design and development of our cloud-based Business Execution software suite. They work with a wide variety of internal stakeholders—including product managers, architects, UX and UI designers, operations support and other engineers—in the full range of the software development cycle. They are involved in the ideation, prototyping, designing and development of the next generation of products and features, and for integrating them into existing solutions. Some of the tasks that they perform are:
- Write code in compliance for company policies, conventions and best practices
- Troubleshoot software bugs and defects to support new and existing customers
- Take ownership to help test, release, and maintain features
- Awareness of relevant technical developments in the software industry
- Learn new technologies, software concepts and patterns, and help with prototyping and developing new ideas
- Perform exploratory research by studying state of the technology industry, analyst reports and existing products
- Participate in agile software development process
- Interest in developing software products
- Willingness to learn new technologies and software tools
- Some hands-on software development experience
- Possess analytical skills to take data as input and output actionable recommendations
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
