Sales Apprenticeship Role Definition
About the programme
Working alongside experienced sales professionals, as a sales apprentice with BAE Systems Applied Intelligence you will benefit from learning in a broad range of markets, across a number of different customers and experiencing a wide variety of products and solutions.
Through the three year programme you will be developed, trained and coached in skills and competencies that will help you become a successful sales professional, and will achieve a recognised Business to Business Sales degree. You will also benefit from the wider BAE Systems long-standing development programmes supporting the future talent of the business.
The types of roles that you’ll experience within the Applied Intelligence Sales community will include Account Management, New Business Development, Pre-Sales/Technical Sales and Bid Management, where you will learn how to understand customer requirements, work with them to find a resolution and then close the sale.
What you’ll need
To apply for the Sales Degree Apprenticeship Scheme, you’ll require the following:
- A minimum of 96 UCAS points gained from a maximum of 3 A-Level qualifications or equivalent E.g. BTEC. (excludes AS level).
- 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C / Level 4-9, including Mathematics, English and ICT.
- Relevant or prior experience may also be considered as an alternative to the above qualifications.

Applicants will be expected to be medically fit as deemed necessary to perform the role, be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully achieve security clearance.

The focus of the Sales Degree Apprenticeship Scheme is on the development of the individual. You will be fully funded to study part time to achieve your Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Business to Business Sales.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn from colleagues who are experts in their field, and gain insights that can only come from real world experience. You may also partake in ‘Stretch Assignments’ - these are opportunities to be involved in a variety of charitable and promotional projects to develop skills in addition to those that can be learned through university\placements.
