Location: Vejle, Denmark
Organization: Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy
Mode of employment: Full time
About the position
For our Offshore Project Transport department we are looking for an experienced manager and transport professional to assume the role of Team Lead for our Transport Services team.
The Project Transport department belongs to the SGRE Sales & Projects organization and works as an internal supplier of end-to-end logistics solutions for our large-scale wind turbine projects world-wide.
The Transport Services team has multiple functions across a broad network of internal and external stakeholders. Main areas are:
- Tender / sales calculations for future wind farms projects, delivering “full logistics package” solutions and costings to the Offshore Sales organization.
- Daily execution of global SGRE contracts within heavy haulage, container logistics, groupage (air, sea road), courier etc. – for projects under execution within Business Unit Offshore.
As Team Lead you will be part of the daily management team of the Project Transport department.
You play a vital role in linking the detailed knowledge and lessons learned from the executional environment with calculations and cost models assumed for future projects.
The role has a “global growth” perspective, as we cover both existing European markets as well as new, emerging markets for offshore wind.
About the role
In the daily business, you will be leading a team of 5-6 experienced and dedicated logistics professionals, who are all committed to delivering high quality services to their respective stakeholders and environments.
Aside from general team management tasks, you will be responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of tools, processes and price/concept assumptions that form the foundation for operational excellence and reliable output. This also includes participation in supplier negotiations for frame agreements, definitions of KPI measures etc.
As we are in a very dynamic business, there will be a strong focus on continuous improvement measures, both short term and mid/long term. As such, you will play a central role in a number of internal projects.
As a person you are self-driven and structured, with an empathic, yet result-oriented approach to your work. Preferably you have some years of documented management experience from a small/medium-sized function .
You are a strong communicator, both orally and in writing (English as office language) – and you hold a proactive and outgoing mindset. You are a good listener and value a close and open dialogue with your colleagues / employees.
The ideal candidate has experience from project logistics business, general forwarding or similar.
In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
