We are now recruiting for Maintenance and Trouble Shoot Technicians to join the Power Generation Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy team at Galloper Wind farm, Harwich.
As a Maintenance or Trouble Shoot Technician you will be part of a permanently employed dedicated service team. You will be able to lead a team and carry out all of the duties associated with the Fault diagnosis, service, maintenance and repair of Siemens wind turbine generators.
About the Role
What are my responsibilities?
As a Troubleshooter you will be part of a permanently employed dedicated service team. You will be able to lead a team and carry out all of the duties associated with the fault diagnosis, service, maintenance and repair of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) wind turbine generators. You will deliver excellent service and meantime between faults (MTBF) while ensuring compliance with SGRE internal processes and procedures, UK Legislation, EHS and Quality.

The role will involve flexibility between service and troubleshooting roles across the year. The shift pattern will be based around annualised hours expected to be 9 on 5 off throughout the summer, 7 on 7 off in the winter.
Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:
•To lead troubleshoot and service teams to deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance at site to EHS, quality, time and cost requirements. You will also support Senior Technicians with customer liaison.
•Responsible for preparation and execution of work packages / tasks.
•Active safety leadership when in the turbine and in the Wind Farm - ensure correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions.
•Development of technician competency and mentoring within area of responsibility for SGRE technicians. Also having direct supervision and support of all technicians in team whilst on site.
•Liaises with other Field teams, Technical/engineering functions, service coordinator/planner function and senior technicians on any work package/task progress.
•Maintain efficient timescales for delivery of service activities, assist in the creation of daily, weekly plans for site teams as in conjunction with Service Planner / Service Coordinator /Senior Technician.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
You will be a competent individual who is able to work under pressure and Lead a team of service technicians. You will have the ability to work shifts at the project location (exact shift patterns tbc). This role also requires you to have some knowledge about health and safety legislations. Ideally you will have a Comprehensive understanding of and a consistent ability to demonstrate your own competency levels as a Technician, Competent Technician, Maintenance Technician and Troubleshoot Technician.
Please note that this role also requires shift working as per business needs. Further details will be finalised for the shift pattern closer to when the site becomes operational. This role requires the person to be based on site at Harwich, Essex and so you must live within commuting distance of Harwich or be willing to relocate to the local area. The successful candidate must have a valid driving licence.
