The University of Lausanne is a higher teaching and research institution composed of seven faculties where approximately 15,000 students and nearly 5,000 collaborators, professors, and researchers work and study. Expected start date in position : 01.11.2018 / to be agreed
Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 years depending on funding
Activity rate : 100%
Workplace : University of Lausanne, Dorigny
Most of the postdoc’s time will be dedicated to research, but a contribution to teaching is expected, including the possibility of supervising master students. The job description stipulates:
70% Personal research
25% Participation to teaching activities
5% Maintenance of lab equipment or other institutional tasks
- PhD in Spatial Ecology/Biogeography/Macroecology or equivalent
- Good skills in computer, programming, GIS, statistics, eco-informatic modelling, simulations
- Good theoretical knowledge and willingness to conduct research in spatial ecology/macroecology/biogeography at various scales
- Field knowledge (especially botany, entomology and microbiology, but vertebrates or other groups also of potential value) and experience (plot measurements) will be a plus.
