When it comes to customer service, East Midlands airport often face some of the biggest and most exciting challenges in the industry and in order to do this successfully we need the very best people.
What is the role and what will I be doing?
As an Airport Security Officer you will take responsibility for the safety of our passengers and will get involved in varied checks including:
✈ Searching of passengers and their hand luggage
✈ Operating high-tech equipment such as x-rays and observing screens
✈ Patrolling different parts of the Airport site
✈ Checking staff ID cards and passenger boarding cards before entering the security area
Within this role, you may be required to carry out additional responsibilities to assist the wider customer service department during busy periods. This may include duties such as:
✈ Supporting roles within the Passenger Service Team, assisting customers with reduced mobility through the Airport.
✈ Supporting roles within the Car Parks Meet & Greet operation.
What contract can I expect to be offered?
We have 6 month temporary flex contracts available which means you are paid for 21 hours per week, however, in our busier months you may work an average of 30 hours per week and in our quieter months you will work an average of 10 hours per week. This does not affect your salary which is paid consistently at 21 hours per week.

You will need to be flexible to work on a 24/7 operation which will include early morning starts, nights shifts, weekends, bank holidays. Shifts will vary in lengths so you can expect short haul and long-haul shifts. The rate of pay for the position is £8.18 per hour including shift allowance.

Sounds great, but what are the position requirements?
No previous security experience – No problem!! Full in-house training is provided and you will gain a Level 1 qualification in Aviation Security. We’re simply seeking candidates with customer facing experience ready to sore as a Security Officer. We need candidates to land in MAG who have a passion for delivering first-class customer service.
As the face of MAG, you need to be well presented, punctual and able to work in a fast-paced role. Don’t forget to pack your “can-do” attitude and your pro-active approach.
Please note, all candidates must have perfect colour vision & the role will require long periods of standing, bending and walking.

Checks include: A Criminal Record Check, 5 years employment history and Counter Terrorism Check.
