We are looking for a Patent Attorney to join the Intellectual Property Support team at DeLaval International AB. You will be part of a motivated team of people within Legal Affairs, supporting the DeLaval Group in intellectual property matters worldwide.
The job as Patent Attorney involves managing and developing part of the DeLaval patent portfolio, and making sure that it is aligned with the business of the group. You will be evaluating IP related business opportunities, scouting for inventions and continuously promoting intellectual property within the company. On a daily basis you will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the European Patent Office and worldwide, and coordinating external patent counsel globally. You will be investigating and ensuring our freedom to operate in view of IP of third parties, handling oppositions and appeals. Finally you be enforcing our IP rights in the event they are infringed, together with legal counsel.
You have a University degree in Engineering and at least 5-10 years of experience working with patents in private practice or industry. You are preferably qualified as European Patent Attorney, or at least partly qualified in the EQE.
As a person you are well organized, efficient and take your own initiatives to drive work forward. You have good communication and collaboration skills as well a solid understanding in the business implications of using intellectual property.
You speak Swedish and English fluently and have excellent English writing skills.
