•Keep abreast of the local, regional security dynamics with awareness of global factors that might impact WFP mandate delivery in Iraq, advise WFP head of field offices on the relevant security developments and recommend risk management measures to address threats likelihoods and impacts to maintain acceptable level of risk.
•Support head of field offices in planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of WFP operational activities required to deliver WFP mandate.
•Keep WFP security plan(s) updated with all relevant annexes including but not limited to, MEDEVAC, CASEVAC, business continuity, firefighting, etc. And ensure that WFP Iraq personnel are aware of and rehearsing relevant emergency response procedures as need be.
•Provide technical and operational guidance to security team with leadership parameters pertaining the day-to-day security operations management.
•Carry out ad-hoc SRMs and relevant security assessments as need be and as required.
•Recommending risk management measures and monitoring the proper implementation of the recommended measures.
•Establish effective relationship with government security counterparts to facilitate the delivery of WFP mandate and grant access to the people we serve.
•Establish collaborative relationship with UNDSS and other UNSMS security counterparts, at Iraq country level, to make sure a UNSMS collaborative approach is maintained without impediment of WFP program delivery.
•Represent WFP in Iraq area(s) security cell(s) promoting WFP needs for better mandate delivery. Advice the head of area office prior ASMT and attend the ASMT as an observer.
•Represent WFP in other UNSMS security fora as required.
•Represent WFP at inter-agency meetings e.g. security coordination cells in to contribute to technical discussions and exchange of knowledge and experience and advocate for the WFP position.
