The Operations Excellence Department at DSM is responsible, together with Business Groups, to deliver manufacturing and supply chain excellence to drive the operations of each business unit to world class performance.
To create long-term strategies for manufacturing excellence within all Businesses of DSM, DSM Operational Excellence & Responsible Care (DO&RC), is looking for a:
Operational Excellence Lead Manufacturing
Office location: Heerlen, the Netherlands.
Scope: Worldwide, with 30% travelling involved
In this role you are responsible together with the Chief Operations Officer/ VP Manufacturing to drive the operations of each business unit to world class performance. You are centrally empowered to set aspirations, co-develop and approve roadmaps, propose tactical improvements and monitor performance of each Business Unit. You will advise DSM's Managing Board about the Operational Excellence roadmaps for and report the performances of business units/business groups.
You will support the Director Operational Excellence in developing, maintaining and reviewing all plans related to improving Manufacturing processes within DSM. As a main task related to this, you will be coordinating and fostering the community of Manufacturing.
In addition, you will identify trends and practices through (internal and external) benchmarking and contacts with peers and analyses thereof in the field of Manufacturing/Operations.
You need to be interested in other people in such a way that you want to know what drives other people in their work, because you will interact with a very diverse group of internal contacts. From high level strategy development together with COO’s to tactical deployment programs with Functional Managers.
Eagerness to learn new things is something you bring to understand the different business situations and the entire goods flow and key processes; for all business units. To make sure you are successful in this role you bring the personality to balance between the goals of different stakeholders.
- At least 10 years of experience in operations in (bio)chemical processes as a manager or senior expert.
- Master’s degree by education and experience.
- Personal skills like problem analysis, creativity and being a strong communicator characterize your identity.
- Experience in change management and human dynamics
- Experience in consulting and policy development
